From Ground to Desk: A Seat for Every Child

In rural areas of Burundi, countless children face a heartbreaking reality: a lack of essential educational resources, particularly school benches. Many children are forced to sit on the ground, while others squeeze into overcrowded desks meant for only two students. These difficult conditions make it nearly impossible for students to focus, follow lessons, or take notes, often leading to poor academic performance and, in some cases, dropping out of school entirely.

Since 2021, Hope for a Better Future (HBF) has been dedicated to improving learning environments by providing school benches to rural schools. This year, we are proud to partner with HBF to expand our mission and create an even greater impact.

Together, we are aiming to provide 200 school benches to a rural school in Kayanza Province. Each bench costs 70,000 FBU, and our fundraising goal is 14,000,000 FBU (approximately $1,900 USD). With your help, we can provide these children with a chance to learn in comfort and dignity—a fundamental right every child deserves.
